Apple is soon going to introduce two low-cost iPhones in March 2020 and they are being referred to as iPhone 9. The second-generation iPhone 9 is going to mark Apple’s debut in the mid-range segment as the starting range of the iPhones is said to be around $399.
As reported by Bloomberg, Apple has already started reaching out to suppliers like Pegatron, Winstron, and Foxconn to manufacture iPhone 9. The official launch of the iPhone 9 is speculated to take place in March.
The initial units of the iPhone will be manufactured by the next month as Apple wants to be prepared for the launch. The brand new iPhone 9 is said to be inspired by iPhone 8 and it will come with a 4.7-inch display and an OLED screen. The budget-friendly iPhone 9 will feature a home button along with a touch ID and a single rear camera set up.
Apple iPhone 9 will be powered by the A13 processor which is the latest one introduced by Apple and is also used in the iPhone 11. To keep the prices low, Apple has avoided adding features like advanced cameras and Face ID.
The basic model of the iPhone 9 will be available at a price of $399 which clearly means that it will be available at a cost lower than the market price of iPhone 8 that is available at $499 in the United States.
Apple’s future plans for iPhone 8 are not clear yet but speculations are that the company will retire the iPhone 8 after the launch of the iPhone 9.
However, Apple has not confirmed anything about the launch of the new generation iPhone SE, so as of now, Apple might release the iPhone 9 only in March 2020. According to previous reports, Apple was going to launch the iPhone SE in the first quarter of 2020 but now the company will focus on budget-friendly iPhone.
